A non-profit non-political organization providing services to immigrants. Some services offered include: English language classes, employment and direct settlement assistance as well as a resouce centre for visible minorities and immigrants.
 
    Global Vocational Services

Global Vocational Services assists workers who are in vocational transition seek appropriate solutions.  Global offers a Wage Subsidy Program designed to assist eligible individuals in gaining on-site work experience which will lead to continued employment upon completion of the contract.
The contract arrangement establishes a partial reimbursement of wages to the employer while the individual learns new skills through supervised instruction. The employer is able to offset labour costs and benefit from a capable employee.  Participant requirements: Participant must be either a) on an active EI claim b) have been on EI within the past 3 years c) or on EI within the past 5 years if maternity of parental benefits.
Note: Employers must apply and receive approval before hiring the participant.

If you are unemployed and interested in starting a business, you may be eligible to receive training, support, and financial assistance. We will teach you how to write a business plan and coach you through using that business plan to set reachable goals and to acquire further financing, if necessary. You will also benefit from the expertise of a business coach and the experience of a successful business member of the community as a mentor.
