NYSA is a community based, not for profit, charitable society that delivers services to youth ages 13 to 30 years. Since January 29,1969, it has provided a range of residential and non-residential services to youth and young adults in the Nanaimo Regional District. Programming currently includes: employment counseling and training, wage subsidy programs, life skill and transitional planning services, meal programs, a newspaper, and recreation and leisure services.

    Youth Path
Youth.gc.ca has changed it's look as of September 2004! Although the look has changed, the functionality of the site has not changed since the beginning of the site back in 2002. Back then, the website was known as YouthPath.ca. Youth.gc.ca was built with the help and direction of 16 Youth Team Leaders, hundreds of volunteers from across Canada and 16 Federal Partners. Welcome to WorkScene, the book with all the basic info on specific careers in BC. This book has been designed specifically for young people who are interested in finding out what the scene is like out there for a whole host of careers. WorkScene contains close to 200 profiles of career areas - literally from Accommodations Officer to Zoologist. Each profile includes detailed info on what it's like to work in that field, where the jobs are, how many jobs there are, how much money people in the field make, what skills the industry is looking for and more.

The Industry Training Authority (ITA) is the provincial government agency with responsibility for apprenticeships and industry training programs in B.C. The ITA is working to support existing apprenticeship options, and to identify new training approaches. This link takes you to the Education Planner which is endorsed by the public post-secondary institutions of BC, managed by the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer, and funded by the BC Ministry of Advanced Education. The information in Education Planner is collected and verified with the cooperation of the public post-secondary institutions in BC. Institutions make changes to their programs and requirements and as a result, Education Planner is updated on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
