Find employment where you can use your skills. Gain an understanding of the local economy and where you might find work. The labour market has changed - what does it mean to you?

Resumes & Cover Letters 101
Learn the theories behind the basic building blocks to successful job search. Writing an effective resume and cover letter that will impress potential employers takes preparation. In Resumes & Cover Letters 101, you will identify your skills and qualifications and will learn how to create an effective resume describing what you can offer an employer. You will have the opportunity to refer to samples and will begin creating your own documents in class. No computer skills required.

Resumes & Cover Letters 102
The follow-up workshop to 101, Resumes & Cover Letters 102 is the practical application to creating good resumes and cover letters. Having a well-written cover letter and resume will help you get noticed by an employer and get an interview. Using your identified skills and qualifications, you will work with a specialist in our computer lab to help you refine and perfect your resume and cover letter to market your skills and abilities to the fullest.
Computer Basics 1 & 2 (or equivalent) and Resumes & Cover Letters 101 are prerequisites.

Learn to create job security by making yourself an indispensable asset at work and gain some strategies to ensure you are using your experiences and attitude to attain your dreams.

Computer Basics 1
Learning about computer technology can make your job search
more effective. Our expert facilitator understands the frustrations
you may be feeling. This introduction guides you through the basics
of operating a computer and introduces you to the basics of searching
and using word processing applications. You will learn to create your
resume, and set up and use email.

Computer Basics 2
This workshop builds on the introduction from Basics 1 and
focuses on refining skills for searching and applying for jobs online.
Learn how to save, open, and modify documents, as well as how
to send them by email. You're welcome to repeat these courses to help
build your skills, confidence and get more practice.
